The USAAF had this airfield for a short while in WWII operating Liberators and was placed on a care and maintenance basis after WWII, it was to be upgraded for USAF work in the 1950's but thisĀ never materialised.

I know Sudbury well, but have only been to Acton Church once and never been to the old airfield, so anyone with any memories or pictures?
