In 1935 King George V reviewed his Air Force at Mildenhall, there were over 350 aircraft on display and then they all flew over the King after he had driven to Duxford

I have visited the non base side on several occasions but have never visited the base, viewing areas are few and far between, a Caravan Park has the best viewing facilities apparently

I have a few pics of the aircraft that frequent the base, the only photo on base I have is from a friend since deceased of a Stealth aircraft

This the original Comet broke the world record flying from RAF Mildenhall to Australia in the 1930's, it is completely airworthy and regularly flew out of Hatfield, since being placed into its new home at Old Warden it no longer flies from there as the runway is too short, but it does taxi around the airfield on show days. Its name: Grosvenor House and is based at Old Warden, The Shuttleworth Collection
